After you fill out the Contact Form, I will call or email you to schedule an appointment. Prior to your first appointment, there will be some forms to fill out in the patient portal with demographic and insurance information.
When you arrive for your appointment, you can make yourself comfortable in our waiting area. No need to check in. At your appointment time, I will find you and invite you back to the office.
At the first appointment, you can expect to tell your story and express your concerns and experiences. There will be plenty of time and opportunity to ask questions and for us to get to know one another. Together, we will create a therapy plan to meet your needs.
As the parent or legal guardian, please fill out the Contact Form, and I will call or email you to schedule an appointment. Prior to the first appointment, there will be some forms to fill out in the patient portal with demographic and insurance information.
During the first appointment, I will meet with the parent or legal guardian along with your teen, to discuss concerns, questions, and goals for therapy.
During the second appointment, I will start to get to know your teen better and hear their perspective. Therapy with teens is done in a low-pressure, lighthearted way. Depending on the teen, we might play games or draw while we talk. Periodically, I will schedule sessions to meet with parents/guardians to receive updates about how the teen is doing at home and at school, and to discuss progress in therapy. If there is ever a safety concern with your child, you will be notified right away.

During the first appointment, I will meet with the parent or guardian alone to discuss your concerns and gather background information about your child. Then, we will schedule an appointment to begin therapy with the child.
During the second appointment, we will begin play therapy. Children use play to communicate and process emotions, problem solve, and learn new skills. Your child will think they are playing, but really they are working to improve their behavior and emotional health.
